Fiji Airways has announced the introduction of services to the popular tourist destinations of Tonga and Samoa, as well as new advantages for tabua club members.
The airline also announced that it had won the APEX Passenger Choice Award for best food and beverage in the South Pacific.
Fiji Airways now offers three weekly overnight flights to Samoa from Nadi, Fiji, and two weekly overnight flights to Tonga in response to growing demand from Australians booking South Pacific holidays.
With the addition of overnight flights, Australians now have more alternatives for reaching the tropical paradise of Fiji and the islands of Samoa and Tonga. From Nadi, Fiji Airways presently offers up to seven weekly flights to Samoa and up to five weekly flights to Tonga.
“As we approach the peak travel season over the holidays, we are excited to offer Australians more connections to South Pacific destinations with new overnight services to Tonga and Samoa from Nadi,” said Andre Viljoen, managing director and chief executive officer of Fiji Airways, about the airline’s decision to expand its services.
Most passengers flying to Tonga and Samoa originate in Sydney, and the performance has exceeded projections.
We are witnessing an increase in demand for flights from Brisbane to Tonga in December and Melbourne to Samoa in January.
It wasn’t until August 1st, 2022, that international traveller could again enter the tropical paradises of Samoa and Tonga, which had been closed to them since March 2020. Starting in September 2022, all you need to enter Tonga from Samoa is confirmation of vaccination; you may now go there without any restrictions.
Fiji Airways’ expanding network of destinations and services, which currently includes Fiji, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Singapore, Samoa, Tonga, Tuvalu, Kiribati, Vanuatu, the Solomon Islands, and Canada, will grow to include Tonga and Samoa on November 25th, 2022, with the addition of additional flights to both destinations.
